This Weeks Highlights

Ben Dolic
New MusicBenjamin Dolić, known professionally as Ben Dolic, is a Slovenian singer. He gained popularity in Germany after his participation in the eighth season of The Voice of Germany. He would have represented Germany in the 2020 contest with the song 'Violent Thing' before it was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Malta has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 35 times since its debut in 1971. The contest is broadcast in Malta on the PBS channel, TVM. Malta has yet to win the contest, but is the only non-winning country to have achieved four top three results. They finished last on its first two attempts in 1971 and 1972, and had a 16-year absence from the contest between 1975 and 1991, when it returned. Malta has participated every year since. Malta’s return proved more successful, reaching the top 10 in 12 out of 15 contests from 1991 to 2005. That included third-place results for Mary Spiteri (1992) and Chiara (1998) and second-place results for Ira Losco (2002) and Chiara (2005). Since finishing last for the third time in 2006, Malta has struggled to make an impact. The island achieved only two top 10 results in recent years: Gianluca Bezzina’s eighth-place in 2013, and Destiny Chukunyere’s seventh-place finish in 2021.
Emma Louise Marie Muscat is a Maltese singer and model working in Italy.
Muscat submitted a song to take part in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in February 2022.
The song “Out of Sight” won the contest with a total of 92 points, therefore gaining the right to represent her country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin, Italy.
On 14 March 2022, a new song was released, titled “I Am What I Am”, to replace “Out of Sight” as Muscat’s Eurovision entry. I Am What I Am” was performed in the second semi-final of the contest on 12 May 2022, and failed to qualify for the final, finishing in 16th place as Malta’s eighth non-qualification in the contest.
